The first time you said ‘I love myself’
You were in front of your bedroom mirror
Naked
Your mouth, like birthing, dilated wide enough for the blessing to bathe the room
No one around to contend or contest with
Your voice is the first and the last and your constitution true
Your chest rose and fell like a rebel
It is your own hands that laid siege to your skin
You pulled from beneath you, cobalt and diamond, copper and gold.
Vowing to spend yourself well.
There is a knock on the door,
and you are not ashamed to be naked because you are not barren.
You know there will be nations that long to conquer you and nations that come begging for bread.
C.Author’s note
Sometimes we are our own worst enemy, sometimes we need to capture our own thoughts and enforce change. The moment we start to see value in ourselves the world will see it too.

This is a stunningly beautiful reflection of self-love! Thank you for sharing.
